About Us

The Lake Hartwell Association’s mission is to protect and improve the lake’s water quality, quantity and safety for the benefit of residents and users. The association uses education, advocacy, and stewardship to achieve this goal.

LHA advocates on behalf of its members in the areas of water policy, water quality, shoreline development, and Corps management of water levels. 

By joining LHA you help support these objectives:

• Keep members informed on things affecting Lake Hartwell
• Influence positive growth and development while preserving the quality of life for all lake users, including lake area residents, recreational users and local businesses
• Add member voices to dialogue with the Corps of Engineers, government agencies and other organizations
• Protecting the quality and quantity of water resources in Lake Hartwell and its watershed
• Encourage members to take an active part in the future care and development of the lake
• Provide a forum for discussion and action on lake-related issues
• Work to make the lake safer for everyone, including boaters, residents, and visitors
